On a small block Chevy V8 engine, the distributor cap firing order is in a clockwise rotation. In most cases it doesn’t matter where the number one position is on your distributor cap, as long as the plug wires are in the correct firing order. The most important thing to remember is that the firing order must follow the same pattern as the engine.
