Open the Control Panel. Click on System. Click on Sound. Under the "Input" section, click the Manage sound devices option. Under the "Input" section, select the microphone. Click the Disable button. (Or clear the Disable option to enable the device.) Alternatively, you can go to the Recording tab in the Sound Control Panel. Right-click your mic, and select ‘Enable’ from the context menu. If the mic isn’t there, right-click where the devices are listed on the Recording tab and enable the option to show disconnected and disabled devices, and then enable it.
