Difference between Male and Female Blue Crabs - Difference
An adult male blue crab may mate many times in its lifetime. A male blue crab “molts” or sheds its exoskeleton about twenty times before reaching adulthood. Finally, males are believed to have flaky meat. A female blue crab, or “sook,” has red-tipped claws. To easily remember this, people liken these red tips to the “red nails” of female human beings.
