Vitamin C: a Lyme Patient's Friend or Foe?
Some antibiotics, such as macrolides (doxycycline, Biaxin, Zithromax, erythromycin, etc.), are more effective in a slightly alkaline environment. Perhaps vitamin C inhibits the effectiveness of some antibiotics. A food source for the Lyme spirochete may be one or more of the molecular components that make up human collagen and connective tissue.
