A port could happen in the future since SEGA owns the IP, but Nintendo did pay for exclusivity rights highly likely under contract with SEGA so a port of Bayonetta 2 and 3 are not likely until the contract expires unless the contract is non-expiring which would mean such ports will never happen. 0 176 Arnold-Kage Sat 8th Feb 2020Should I play Bayonetta on PC or console?
From my short time with a pre-release version of the game, Bayonetta on PC looks to be easily the definitive way to play the game, and a strong port all around. Basic graphics options expectations are fulfilled, a solid 60 FPS should be achievable over a variety of systems, and default PC inputs are supported. Is Bayonetta owned by Nintendo or Sega?
However it probably isn't as clear as that, certainly for Bayonetta 1 it probably is, but 2 and 3 will be a different story as per whatever contract Nintendo worked out with Sega. While Sega own the IP it doesn't mean they fully own the games. How do you feel about Bayonetta on PS4?
I have mixed feelings really. On one hand, it would be awesome playing the Bayonetta games on my PS4. I'm more inclined to say however, that Bayonetta should remain a Nintendo exclusive, and that Platinum should show some respect to Nintendo for helping make Bayonetta 2 & (eventually) 3 happen.
