WebMay 20, 2022 · Guantanamo Bay Guantanamo Bay is the largest bay on the southern side of Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean Sea. Guantanamo Bay is a deep natural harbor that has tall, steep mountains separating it from the mainland of the island. The United States uses the isolated facilities at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base to house high-risk prisoners at two detention camps: Camp Delta and Camp Iguana.
